The Challenge

The primary goal of the Automated Medicine Dispensary System (AMDS) is to revolutionize the management and dispensation of pharmaceuticals by automating the entire process, ensuring precise, efficient, and safe delivery of medications to patients. This system aims to minimize human error, reduce wait times for patients, and streamline the workflow in pharmaceutical distribution centers, hospitals, and pharmacies.

The Solution

The AMDS is an innovative, automated solution designed to store, manage, and dispense medications with high accuracy and efficiency. The system's core is a cylindrical, rotatable dispensary unit segmented into multiple chambers, each dedicated to a different medication or dosage form. This design is engineered to accommodate a diverse range of pharmaceuticals in a compact, organized manner.

The Result

Storage and Organization:

Medications are stored within the wheel in pre-sorted compartments. The design allows for a large variety of medications to be stored, each within its own designated chamber.

Control and Interface:

The control unit is equipped with a digital interface for inputting dispensary commands. This interface likely includes a database of patients and prescriptions, allowing for automated selection based on programmed criteria.

Dispensing Mechanism:

A motorized servo triggers the rotation of the dispensary wheel, aligning the requested medication chamber with the dispensing chute. Upon alignment, the medication is released into the spin storage tray, which serves as a temporary holding area.

Delivery:

The final step involves the medication being moved from the spin storage tray to the spin dispenser, where it is ultimately dispensed to the patient or a collection container.
